Farm-Based Classroom

Fox Field Farm: Your Outdoor, Multi-Modality Classroom

Hands-On Learning for Field Trips, Homeschool Groups, and Youth Organizations

Welcome to Fox Field Farm (FFF), an active, real-life homestead where we combine equestrian and agricultural training with essential life skills. We offer a unique, immersive educational experience designed to support curriculum goals, foster practical leadership, and connect students to the land and animals.

Our lessons are rooted in multi-modality training, ensuring that students of all ages and backgrounds learn through direct experience—engaging the mind, body, and soul.

Program Pillars: Skills for Life and Career

FFF educational programs are not just about farming or horses; they are about developing the "Common Sense" and professional attitudes needed for success in any career.

1. Agriculture & Career Exploration

Students gain hands-on, live experience across various aspects of farm life, which translates directly into Multi-Level Skill training for careers in agriculture. Topics include:

  • Animal Maintenance and Care: Learning how to groom, tack up, and provide TLC (Tender Love & Care) to our animals, which are loved, honored, and cherished.
  • The Four Seasons of Farm Work: Understanding seasonal routines, from summer programs to spring grooming and winter indoor skills like long-lining and introduction to driving.
  • Homesteading & Sustainability: Practical lessons on self-sufficiency (detailed in Little Critter Land).

2. Essential Life & Leadership Skills

We incorporate Bylaws and Expectations into every activity, coaching students to work to their full potential:

  • Active Listening & Following Directions
  • Time Management Practices
  • Teamwork and Collaboration
  • Professional Attitude: Taking pride in the thorough completion of every chore or job.
  • Practical Thinking ("Common Sense")
